Archbishop Michael Byrnes will be the main speaker as Father Paul Gofigan and the parish of Agaña host the 2018 Catholic Men’s Conference Jan. 20 at the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral Basilica.
With excitement, Men’s Conference founder Pat Wolff this week confirmed the archbishop’s participation and that Father Gofigan has graciously agreed to host the conference at the Agaña parish. Father Gofigan is rector of the Cathedral Basilica and has been a participant as well as speaker at numerous Men’s Conferences in the past.
Wolff met with a half dozen Catholic men on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 9 at the Cathedral Basilica Pastoral Center to begin planning the event.
An island tradition for Catholic men on Guam for some 15 years, the conference will get back on track after a one-year absence. Father Romy Convocar and the San Isidro parish along with the now-closed St. John Paul the Great Archdiocesan Seminary of Guam hosted the last Catholic Men’s Conference two years ago on Jan. 30, 2016.
The men who attended this week’s planning meeting with Wolff were Father Fran Hezel, SJ, Deacon Bill Hagen, Deacon Dave Antonelli, Jonathan Bordallo, Brian Galang, and Tony Diaz.
Wolff welcomes more men to be part of the planning committee and certainly extends an invitation to all men to participate in the upcoming conference on January. Interested persons may contact Wolff via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or Diaz at email@example.com, 562-0065.
