The Sisters of Mercy Traveling Museum opened at Santa Barbara Catholic School on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

SBCS Principal Sister Maria Rosario Gaite, RSM welcomed special guests which included Sisters of Mercy Guam Administrator Sister Marian Therese Arroyo, RSM, Santa Barbara parish pastor Father Dan Bien, Delegate General of the Coadjutor Archbishop Father Jeff San Nicolas, PTO President Mr. Ron DeLima, SBCS alumni, benefactors, students and parents. Senator Dennis Rodriguez and Mrs. Lena Rodriguez, both alumni, were also present.

The Traveling Museum highlighted 70 years of Mercy Life on Guam. The museum included storied panels, a timeline, a multimedia display that told the story of the Sisters of Mercy from its foundation in 1946 to the present. At the SBCS installation, there was a special focus on the growth and history of Santa Barbara Catholic School under the care and administration of the Sisters of Mercy.

The museum was open from Sept. 12-22, 2017, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. For more information or where to visit next, please call SBCS at 671-632-5578.
