For the Umatuna Si Yu’os
Lent at Bishop Baumgartner Memorial Catholic School (BBMCS) has been faith-filled as the school community has gathered for various activities. All faculty, staff, and students have participated in the weekly Stations of the Cross.
Students in each grade-level from kindergarten through fifth grade have completed their grade-level Lenten retreat which included fellowship, celebration of the Eucharist, the rosary, and Stations of the Cross, and a special Lenten talk/activity. The retreats were led by BBMCS campus minister, Sister Emiline Artero, RSM, and facilitated by the grade-level homeroom teachers.
As part of their retreat, students donated non-perishable goods to support the Mercy Action Marianas, Ltd. initiative to contribute to its “Traveling Pantry” as one way of reaching out to the poor people in our island community.
The sixth and seventh graders are looking forward to their upcoming retreats. The BBMCS eighth graders participated in a Lenten retreat with eighth graders from Dominican Catholic School, St. Anthony Catholic School, St. Francis Catholic School, and Mt. Carmel Catholic School.
