In consonance with the Decree on the closure of the Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary Redemptoris Mater in Guam (USA) with Protocol Number 2017-424 dated October 27, 2017;

Cognizant of the fact that the Blessed Diego Luis de San Vitores Catholic Theological Institute for Oceania was decreed together with the Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary Redemptoris Mater in Guam in the use of property and in the operation of its goals;

Having worked with the review committee and having paid attention personally on the dynamics of its inception and operation of which its model is not sustainable for this archdiocese;

After consultation with the Presbyteral Council, College of Consultors, and Finance Council and having observed the prescriptions of Church laws and precepts;

I took upon this decision of closure of this institute in prayer and discernment asking the intercession of our Blessed Mother in her title Santa Marian Kamalen.

Therefore, by the power vested upon me by the Holy Father Pope Francis as stated in the Bull of Appointment, “we assign you as Coadjutor Archbishop of Agaña, and we likewise grant without exception all the faculties, rights, and obligations pertaining to the Archbishop of Agaña,” (cf. Papal Bull, 10.31.16) I hereby decree the cessation of operation of Blessed Diego Luis de San Vitores Catholic Theological Institute for Oceania effective January 09, 2018.

Given at the Chancery Office, in Hagåtña, this 9th day of January 2018.
